Everything we make runs on Cloudflare’s global network. It keeps your email, blog and tools fast, protected and online, with no server for anyone to look after.
Who Cloudflare are
Cloudflare, Inc. is an American company, founded in 2009 and based in San Francisco. It runs one of the world’s largest networks, with data centres in more than 300 cities, and a large share of the web’s websites already pass through it every day.
Alongside that network, Cloudflare offers the building blocks we use to make our products: Workers to run the software, storage for mail, files and databases, Email Routing to receive mail, and secure sign-in.
What it does for you
Fast wherever you are
Pages and mail are handled in the data centre nearest to you or your readers, not on one server on the other side of the world.
Protected from attacks
Cloudflare blocks floods of bad traffic before they reach you, and every site gets a free security certificate, renewed automatically.
Nothing to maintain
There’s no server to patch, back up or restart. Cloudflare keeps the machines running, and we keep the software up to date.
Low, predictable costs
Cloudflare’s free plan covers a lot. Where more is needed, such as sending email from KT8 Mail, it’s about $5 a month for your whole organisation.
How each KT8 product uses it
KT8 Mail and KT8 Blog Builder install into your own Cloudflare account. KT8 Publish and our tools run on ours, so there’s nothing for you to set up.
Your own Cloudflare account
KT8 Mail
Your email, calendar and contacts on your own domain.
Email Routing receives your mail, and Cloudflare’s email service sends it.
Your mailboxes and attachments are stored in your account, not ours.
Cloudflare Access protects sign-in.
The optional AI reply assistant uses Workers AI, also in your account.
With KT8 Mail and Blog Builder, the software runs in a Cloudflare account that belongs to you.
Your data stays with you. Your emails and posts are kept in your account. We have no way to log in and read them.
You pay Cloudflare directly for anything beyond the free plan, at Cloudflare’s own prices. We add nothing on top.
It keeps running. Your mailbox and blog check their own licence, so they carry on working even if KT8 stops trading.
You can leave at any time. Export your mail as standard .mbox files, or download your blog.
Good to know
Cloudflare is a US company. It keeps data in its data centres around the world, normally close to where it’s first used. It doesn’t offer a UK-only storage option today.
Changes to Cloudflare’s own services, such as its prices or plans, are outside our control.
We’re independent. KT8 isn’t part of Cloudflare, and Cloudflare doesn’t endorse our products.
