Free means free, for good
Most “free” QR code sites quietly route your code through their own servers, then switch it off after a trial. Ours don’t.
Never expires
A plain code holds your own link, not ours. There’s nothing for us to switch off, now or later.
No sign-up
No account, email address or card details. Open the page, type, download.
Made on your device
Your browser draws the code. What you type, and your logo, never reach our servers.
Links, text, email, phone and Wi-Fi
Point people at a web page, show a note, start an email, call a number or join your Wi-Fi.
Your colours and logo
Pick colours, square, rounded or dot styles, and add your logo. We warn you if a colour would make it hard to scan.
PNG or SVG
Download a sharp PNG up to 4,096 pixels, or an SVG that stays crisp at any size for print.
No watermark, no adverts
Just your code, with nothing added and no limit on how many you make.
Safe to scan
Editable codes go through Short links, where every address is checked for scams before it’s saved, and again each day.
Scan counts without cookies
With an invite, see daily scans, countries and devices for editable codes, counted without cookies or tracking.
Plain codes and editable codes
Pick a plain code if the address won’t change. Pick an editable code if you want to change where it goes after it’s printed, or count scans.
Plain code Free for everyone
- Holds your own address, so it never expires
- Works even if KT8 disappears
- Can’t be changed once printed
- No scan counts
Editable code Invite only
- Holds a short 8t.uk link that forwards to your address
- Change where it goes at any time, even after printing
- Daily scans, countries and devices, without cookies
- Still free: we never switch it off or hold it to ransom
Why other “free” QR codes stop working
Many QR code sites make every code an editable one without saying so: the code points at their server, which forwards people on to you. After a 7 or 14 day trial, they switch the forwarding off until you pay, and your printed menus, flyers and business cards stop working. A plain code from us holds your own address, so there’s no middle step to switch off. Our editable codes do have a middle step, Short links, and we promise never to switch a code off to make you pay.
