KT8 MonitorSSL certificate checks

Never let a certificate run out on your website again.

An expired certificate puts a full page warning in front of every visitor and stops mail apps connecting. Renewals are usually automatic, but they can fail. We check your certificates every 6 hours and warn you in good time.

For businesses with a website, shop or mail server and the agencies and IT providers who look after many of them.

Before it runs out

Warnings well before a certificate expires.

We read each certificate’s expiry date every 6 hours. If it hasn’t renewed, we email you 14 days, 7 days and 1 day before it runs out. That’s usually enough time to find out why an automatic renewal failed.

14 days before

A first reminder, while there’s plenty of time.

7 days before

A second reminder.

1 day before

A last warning.

When it breaks

An alert straight away if a certificate stops working.

A certificate can break before it expires: it might not match the site’s name, or not be trusted after a change of hosting. When our checks find one that browsers or mail apps won’t accept, we alert you straight away, with what’s wrong.

What the alert says

Mail apps can’t make a secure connection to it: its certificate has expired, doesn’t match the server’s name or isn’t trusted.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Which certificates do you check?

The certificates on the websites and mail servers you watch with KT8 Monitor.

My certificates renew by themselves. Do I need this?

Automatic renewal can fail. A DNS change, a moved site or a firewall rule can stop it. These checks tell you before your visitors find out.

Is it on every plan?

Yes. Certificate checks are included on Solo, Business and Business Plus.
