Beyond KT8 Mail: introducing our suite of privacy-first products and developer tools

KT8 was founded on a simple core premise: you should own your email infrastructure. While KT8 Mail remains our flagship solution, expanding its platform capabilities exposed broader systemic challenges across analytics, app deployment, and web security—along with a lack of privacy-first, developer-friendly tools to address them.

To solve these challenges, we built a dedicated ecosystem of lightweight, privacy-focused software designed around transparent engineering and simple, actionable outputs.

ReaderCount: cookie-less web analytics

Traditional web analytics suites cater primarily to enterprise marketing teams—relying on cross-site tracking cookies, complex consent banners, and bloated scripts. ReaderCount delivers real-time traffic intelligence tailored for blogs, independent publishers, and SMBs without tracking user identities.

• Zero cookies, zero consent prompts: Operates entirely without cookies or cross-site tracking, so your site needs no cookie banner for it.
• Minimal payload (~1 KB): ~50x lighter than Google Analytics, executed asynchronously to preserve page load speed and Core Web Vitals performance.
• Search Console integration: Imports Google Search Console metrics directly alongside traffic data to surface organic search queries, impression volume, and average SERP positions.
• AI-powered insights via Claude: Query your traffic metrics using natural language directly within Claude interfaces.
• Proactive traffic diagnostics: Automatically flags declining post performance or ranking drops with concrete optimisation steps.

Compatible with major content platforms including Ghost, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and Shopify. Accounts registered before 31 March 2027 receive a lifetime free tier supporting up to 10,000 monthly pageviews.

Installs.dev: turnkey deployment engines for Cloudflare apps

Engineering KT8 Mail highlighted a critical friction point: deploying self-hosted serverless software directly onto a customer's Cloudflare infrastructure without requiring manual CLI operations or complex API configuration. Our solution was the automated web installer deployed at kt8.com/install.

Installs.dev abstracts this installation architecture for third-party software vendors, allowing users to deploy multi-service Cloudflare applications directly into their accounts via a branded, web-based wizard.

Note: if your users are developers, Cloudflare's native Deploy to Cloudflare button is recommended, and open-source apps can be listed free on Appflare. Installs.dev is purpose-built for commercial products that need more set-up, such as storage, custom domains, Email Routing and access control.

Short links on 8t.uk: privacy-preserving link management

URL shorteners often mask malicious destinations or track user behaviour across networks. The 8t.uk service provides clean, shortened URLs backed by automated security scanning and privacy controls:

• Automated threat prevention: Incoming target URLs are verified against Cloudflare's threat intelligence and phishing databases upon creation, with daily automated re-checks.
• Strict destination policies: Blocks nested shorteners, raw IP addresses, homograph attacks, and deceptive domain redirects.
• Destination transparency: Append a + to any 8t.uk link (e.g., 8t.uk/code+) to preview the destination URL before navigating.
• Public abuse reporting: Open reporting endpoints allow immediate submission of suspicious links without requiring an account.

Short link infrastructure is currently operating in private preview.

KT8 Tools: automated email and web diagnostics

Traditional network diagnostic tools output raw technical records, leaving administrators to manually identify configuration issues. KT8 Tools automates the parsing of DNS, mail flow, and web performance data to deliver clear troubleshooting guidance.

DNS checker

Scans domain zones for vital email authentication records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), evaluates SSL/TLS certificate validity, checks domain expiration timelines, and outputs actionable DNS record syntax for misconfigured zones.

Mail tester

Evaluates email deliverability by analysing a test message sent to a unique sinkhole address. Generates an inbox deliverability score out of 10 alongside specific remediation steps for SPF alignment, DKIM signatures, and spam and virus checks.

Speed test

Benchmarks site performance from six global regions, measuring Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS and Total Blocking Time) and identifying specific server response or asset bottlenecks.
